Arizona sportsbooks reported $20.3 million in adjusted gross wagering receipts (AGWR), which resulted in the state collecting $2 million in privilege fees (taxes).
FanDuel Sportsbook Top Mobile Destination
FanDuel and DraftKings have been going neck and neck in the state since 2022. The NYC-based FanDuel Arizona wrestled away the top spot from their Boston-based rival, handling $249.2 million in November wagers to DraftKings’ $229.5 million.
BetMGM was third in the state with $91.7 million in accepted wagers. They’ve been consistently in the top four in monthly handle, as has Caesars ($66.5 million). The four are the only sports betting companies handling over $1 billion dollars in wagers since April 2021.
Penn Entertainment (Barstool) handled $39 million in wagers to nail down the fifth-highest November mobile handle. This was mostly under the Barstool Sports skin, and it will be interesting to see the company’s handle grow armed with an endless supply of free bets under the new ESPN BET skin.
Churchill Downs/TwinSpires, Golden Nugget, Sahara Bets, Superbook, and Unibet AZ were the only mobile sportsbooks failing to handle at least $1 million in November wagers.
DraftKings Tops November AGWR
Only nine of the 17 mobile sportsbooks listed in the report were subject to any November privilege fees.
That left DraftKings Arizona as the November AGWR leader, generating $9.6 million in taxable revenue. FanDuel followed with $7.7 million, but the AGWR dropped dramatically for the rest of the sportsbooks.
BetMGM was the only bookmaker besides DraftKings and FanDuel to generate more than $1 million in AGWR. At the same time, Bally Interactive, Betfred, Churchill Downs/Twin Spires, Desert Diamond Mobile, Golden Nugget, Penn (Barstool Sports), Seminole Hard Rock, and Wynnbet failed to generate any AGWR in November.
